Insurance and Payment Information
We recognize that it is important to know which of our mental health services are private practice (private pay) and which accept insurance. Because insurance options often change, it truly is best to call your insurance company directly to find a list of providers who accept your insurance. However, as a general rule:
- ColumbiaDoctors | Child & Adolescent Mental Health (212-305-6001) clinics and doctors are primarily private pay. Some also accept the United Healthcare plan for Columbia University employees.
NewYork-Presbyterian | Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital (212-305-0924) accepts some insurance.
Some specialty clinics, such as PROMISE at Columbia (learning disorders) and the NYP Youth Anxiety Center in Washington Heights (anxiety and related disorders) are strongly committed to serving those in need in the Washington Heights and surrounding communities.
In the case that we cannot provide a recommended level of care, do not accept your insurance, or otherwise cannot serve a family or child, please ask for an appropriate referral or visit NYC Well for information about free mental health services in the New York City area. Information is available in many languages. You may also wish to check out our mental health resources.
