About the TRADS Lab

Translational Research on Affective Disorders and Suicide Laboratory

Our research utilizes a multimodal and multidisciplinary approach to determine why depressive symptoms unfold, how self-injurious and suicidal behaviors develop, and what predicts treatment response.

The Translational Research on Affective Disorders and Suicide Laboratory, led by Dr. Randy P. Auerbach, focuses on the etiology and treatment of depression, suicide, and self-injurious behaviors, especially in adolescents. We conduct studies that utilize electrophysiology and neuroimaging techniques to investigate the etiology of depression, probe promising markers of suicide risk, and develop predictors of treatment (including internet-based approaches) response.

Our ultimate goal is to improve early identification of and treatment for adolescent depression and suicidal behaviors.
